What Is This Tool?
This Instagram downloader lets you save a public video post or Reel as an MP4 file, straight from your browser. Paste the post link, click Get Video, and download the result β no account, no browser extension, and no watermark added to the file.
How to Use It
- Open Instagram and find the video or Reel you want to save.
- Tap the three-dot menu (or Share) on the post and choose Copy Link.
- Paste that link into the box above and click Get Video.
- Once the preview loads, click Download MP4 to save it to your device.
Why Would You Need This?
Instagram does not offer a built-in way to save someone else's video, which is inconvenient when you want to keep a copy of your own content for backup, repurpose a Reel you were tagged in with permission, save a tutorial or recipe before it disappears, or archive a video for offline viewing when you know you'll be without signal.
Posts, Reels, and IGTV
The tool accepts standard post links (/p/β¦), Reels (/reel/β¦ or /reels/β¦), and longer-form video links (/tv/β¦). Carousel posts are supported if the first item is a video. Stories and private-account posts are not supported β Instagram does not expose those publicly, so no third-party tool can reliably fetch them.
A Note on Copyright
Downloading a video does not transfer ownership or usage rights. The original creator retains copyright over their content regardless of how it was saved. Use this tool for your own posts, content you've been given permission to reuse, or personal offline viewing β not to re-upload someone else's work as your own.
Is It Really Free?
Yes, with no signup and no watermark on the downloaded file. Because Instagram doesn't publish an official way to fetch a video's file, this tool reads the same public page data Instagram already sends out for link previews β so occasionally a request may fail if Instagram changes something on their end. If that happens, waiting a moment and trying again usually resolves it.
